The Anambra State Government house, has been blocked by not less than 300 priests of the diocese of the Niger( Onitsha area), accusing the state government of religious discrimination.

The priests who are all dressed in their robes and about 300 in number blocked the Anambra State Government House while protesting. The Priests vow not to leave the scene until the state Governor addresses them.

Report revealed that their protest is due to an alleged seizure of Bishop Crowther primary school in Onitsha by their Catholic counterpart which the Anglicans claimed belonged to them.

The Anglicans had claimed that the state Governor, Willie Obiano, who is a Catholic, aided his denomination to take over the property.

The priests who were singing different versions of their hymns carried placards of different inscriptions.

Some of the placards read, “ Willie Obiano leave our property for us,”Governor Obiano give us back our land and school”, “Religious politics in Anambra has no end”, “Bishop Crowder memorial primary school Onitsha belongs to Anglican Church”, “Bishop crowder is not government’s property“.
