1. Court grants Fayose N50m bail

Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose has been granted bail to the sum of N50m and two sureties in like sum who are to present evidence of three years tax clearance.

Also Fayose’s International Passport is to be deposited with the court.

2. Senate adjourns plenary till November 6

The Nigerian Senate has put plenary session on hold till Nov. 6, to afford members of standing committee perform their oversight function of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Dr Bukola Saraki, the President of the Senate made this known during plenary on Wednesday.

3. I remain a member of PDP – Ekweremadu

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has debunked speculations that he was leaving the Peoples Democratic Party.

He reassured his supporters that he remained a member of the PDP in a statement posted on his Twitter account on Wednesday.

4. Dogara re-shuffles leadership of house committees

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has reshuffled chairpersons of some of the House committees.

In an announcement at plenary today, the speaker named Abdulmumin Jibrin, former appropriations committee chairman, to head the committee on land transport.

5. Group accuses Amosun of been a mole within APC

Coordinator of the Federation of Buhari Support Group, Ibrahim Sikiru, has alleged that some APC governors led by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu had been working underground to undermine the chances of the party in the forthcoming 2019 poll.

The group, during a protest at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, accused Akeredolu and others of anti-party activities.

6. Appeal court nullifies warrant of arrest against INEC boss

The order for the arrest of the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu by the Federal High Court in Abuja has been set aside by an Appeal court sitting in Abuja.

The Nigerian police was ordered by Justice Stephen Pam of the Federal High Court on August 1, 2018 to arrest the INEC chairman to face contempt charges against him.

7. Amosun. Okechukwu are bad loosers – APC

The All Progressives Congress has said the disapproval being expressed by some of its senior party officials over the party’s primaries was a result of their failure to have their way during the exercise.

The party said it was public knowledge that some of its highly placed members were not only taking their loss at the polls very badly, but that they were looking for those to blame for their woes.

8. PDP passes vote of no confidence on INEC

Uche Secondus, national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says the party can no longer trust the Independent National Commission (INEC).

This he said while receiving a delegation of the European Union of the election exploration mission to Nigeria led by Niclay Paus, on Wednesday.

9. Kaduna state government relaxes curfew

Governor Nasir El-rufai of Kaduna state, has declared that residents of Kaduna, as from Thursday, 25th October 2018, are free to pursue their legitimate business from 6am to 5pm.

According to a statement by his spokesperson, a dusk to dawn curfew will be enforced from 5pm to 6am daily, until further notice.

10. Senate confirms Ingawa as chairman of federal civil service commission

The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Dr Bello Ingawa, a retired Federal Permanent Secretary from Katsina State, as Chairman, Federal Civil Service Commission, FCSC.

The confirmation, followed the presentation of report of the Committee on Establishment and Public Service by its Chairman, Sen. Emmanuel Paulker at plenary.
