Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu from Nnewi South local government area was declared winner of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA ,senatorial candidate for Anambra South zone, last night.

He defeated Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, wife of the late Ikemba Nnewi and Dr. Anselem Enyimba to emerge APGA candidate for the 2019 election.

Ukachukwu polled 211 votes, with his closest rival Ambassador Bianca Ojuwku recording 177 votes, while Dr. Ansalem Enyimba got just 2 votes.

Announcing the result at the Ekwulobia Township stadium, Aguata LGA of Anambra State, the chief returning officer in the Anambra south senatorial election, Chuka Ogbonna took time to ensure transparency in the counting and sorting of the delegates lists before the aspirants.

As earlier reported by Naija News, some hoodlums attempted to disrupt the exercise, but the situation was brought under control by the quick intervention of  joint security operatives in the state.

Nicholas Ukachukwu, who spoke after being declared winner of the keenly contested primary by the returning officer, appreciated the delegates for voting him and promised to replicate Governor Willie Obiano’s achievements in the Senate.
