1. FG suspends Nigeria air indefinitely

Hadi Sirika, the Minister of of State for Aviation, has announced that the planned national carrier, Nigeria Air have been suspended by the federal government.

He said the decision was taken during Wednesday’s federal executive council meeting.

2. Police invites Senator Adeleke over alleged exam malpractice

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the September 22 election in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has been declared wanted by the Police and directed that he report to their Special Investigation Panel at the Abuja headquarters.

The charges against him include, examination malpractice, criminal conspiracy, impersonation.

3. APC shift dates for its presidential and governorship primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has shifted the date slated for its governorship primary election from September 25 to September 29.

The party also postponed the presidential primary from September 20 to September 25.

4. WAEC confirms Adeleke sat for its exams in 1981

The West African Examinations Council has confirmed that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, sat for its examination in 1981.

WAEC made the confirmation in its response to an order made on September 11 this year by a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in Bwari, Abuja, directing the examination body to produce Adeleke’s result.

5. Jimi Agbaje joins 2019 Lagos governorship race

Mr Jimi Agbaje, has on Wednesday, declared his intention to contest the 2019 Lagos State gubernatorial election.

Agbaje, the 2015 candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ended speculations about his political intentions when he confirmed that he was back in the race.

6. Presidency confirms Zainab Ahmed as full minister of finance

The presidency has on Wednesday, said Zainab Ahmed is fully in charge of the ministry of finance as a substantive minister.

Presidential media aide, Femi Adesina disclosed this while chatting with newsmen after the weekly federal executive council meeting yesterday.

7. Buhari reportedly stops IG Ibrahim Idris from inviting Adeleke for questioning

President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly restricted Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police, from inviting Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun state, before Saturday’s election.

Police had ordered that Adeleke appears before the force headquarters in Abuja over accusations that he cominted examination malpractice.

8. Ambode denies withdrawing from Lagos governorship race

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, has denied reports that he had withdrawn from the 2019 governorship race.

Some reports had on Wednesday emerged on social media that the governor had stepped down from the 2019 gubernatorial race and had endorsed Jide Sanwoolu as the governorship candidate for APC.

9. FG to begin compulsory use of national ID card in 2019

The Federal Government has promised to enforce the use of the National Identification Number (NIN) beginning from January 1, 2019.

The Director-General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, disclosed this in a statement.

10. Ronaldo gets red card in Juventus’s champions league game

Cristiano Ronaldo had a disappointing UEFA Champion’s League debut for his side Juventus as he was sent off against Valencia on Wednesday.

German referee Felix Brych showed the Portuguese striker a red card in the 28th minute of the game at Estadio Mestalla as a result of an altercation with Valencia defender Jeison Murillo.
