Bernice King Request To Meet Cardi B After Her Apology

Dr. Bernice King, the daughter of Coretta Scott King and Martin Luther King Jr., has confirmed that Cardi B had apologised for her tasteless skit in which she negatively portrayed Coretta Scott King.

TMZ, had firstly shared the clip, which revealed Cardi playing the role of Coretta Scott King in Off the Rip sketch called The Real Housewives of the Civil Rights Movement.

The short video features the portrayal of Rosa Parks, Jesse Jackson’s wife, Jacqueline Lavina Brown, Malcolm X’s wife, Betty Shabazz, a secret KKK spy, and other notable figures sitting around and gossiping about Martin Luther King Jr’s extramarital affairs. At one point, Cardi B says, “All these hussies wanna sleep with my huuusband!“, the statement which did not go down well with Dr. Bernice.

On the 55th anniversary of #IHaveADream,’ a clip on @TMZ depicts my parents (Cardi B playing my mom) & great women of the CRM in a repulsive, false light,” King said in a tweet that had been deleted, adding, “They paid an extraordinary price so people of color can have a platform- & this is how you use it. @iamcardib: Let’s talk.

Cardi apparently called and apologised for her role, and King returned to Twitter to confirm this.
