Just in: 2018 budget: Reps suspend plenary for 3 weeks
-House of Rep members to suspend plenary for three weeks.
-The break is to allow for oversight assessment on the implementation of 2017 budget as well as prepare for 2018 budget defence.
House of rep suspends plenary over 2018 budget.
Members of the lower chamber of the National Assembly; House of Representatives will suspend plenary as from Thursday, November 30.
The decision was announced by Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Yussuff Lasun while presiding over plenary during today’s sitting.
The suspension of plenary, is to allow members proceed on oversight assessment of the 2017 budget as well as hold defence sessions for the 2018 budget.
The duration for the suspension has been put at three weeks.

Recall, President Buhari had on Tuesday, November 7, presented a N8.6 trillion 2018 budget proposal to a joint sitting of the National Assembly.
Also, as earlier reported by Naija News, spokesman of the House of Representatives, Abdulrazak Namdas has revealed that “a minimum of three months” is required before the 2018 budget can be ready.
This he stated in reaction to President Buhari’s appeal that the 2018 budget be made available by January 1, 2018.
