There seems to be a twist in the impending transfer of Super Eagles Captain, John Obi Mikel away from Chelsea in the January transfer window.
Before now, initial reports suggested that Mikel is in advance talks to join Ligue 1 side, Olympique Marseille but that may not be the case anymore in the report from Italian football website, Tuttomercatoweb.com is anything to go by.
The Italian news outfit claim that the Chelsea midfielder who is in his last year of contract at Stamford Bridge will join the Nerazzurri on a free loan, including a non-mandatory buy-back clause, after which he might have become a free agent.
It has also been suggested that Mikel has given Inter Milan chiefs his word that he will join the club next month.
Many are keen to see if this will be the end of the drama on the uncertainties around the next destination for Mikel whose Chelsea career which has spanned over 10 years is almost certain coming to an end this season.
