Breaking: NNPC Reduces Ex-Depot Price Of Petrol

Parts of the Minna depot of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in Pogo has been gutted by fire Daily Trust reports.

As at time of reporting however, no casualty in the incident, even as emergency and security officials said they are yet to take data of items lost in the disaster.
The Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mallam Ibrahim Yahaya, he said “for now we have not been able to ascertain casualties.”

Also, the Director General, Niger State Emergency Agency (NSEMA), Ahmed Ibrahim Inga who confirmed the incident said there was no casualty.

We thank God everything has returned to nomalcy. If you want to plan for emergency, you project higher in case anything happens. Thank we alerted people quickly and we were able to arrest the situation.

“Evacuation measures have been put in place and thank God the situation is now calm,” he explained.
Speaking on the level of damage done, he said, “Right now, there are no casualties, we are just trying to see that the fire goes down totally and then our men will go round to access what the situation is.”‎

Also, the Director of Fire Service, Muhammad Babakudu said “all hands are on deck to forestall the spread of the fire. As you can see, normalcy has returned.

“We project higher for any emergency, that is why all our trucks are ready to arrest any fire outbreak. Ever since Governor Abubakar Sani Bello got fire equipment for us we have been very proactive.”
