Breaking: NNPC Reduces Ex-Depot Price Of Petrol

-NNPC says it has no plans to increase the pump price of petrol in the country.

-The corporation, further assured of steady supply of the product during the yuletide and beyond.

NNPC allays fear of Nigerians over availability and supply of petroleum products.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has debunked rumours which alleged it is planning to increase the prices of petroleum products in the country ahead of the Christmas and end of year celebrations.

The body maintained that both the ex-depot level and pump prices will remain unchanged.

In the statement issued by Ndu Ughamadu, its general manager, group public affairs division, the corporation said the ex-depot petrol price of N133.38 per litre and the pump price of N143/N145 per litre remains the same.

The corporation noted that it has enough fuel in reserve to guarantee seamless supply and distribution of products across the country before, during and after the yuletide.

While enjoining other users of petroleum products to disregard the rumour, the NNPC said it has the full commitment of all downstream stakeholders including petroleum marketers and industry unions to cooperate in achieving zero fuel scarcity this season and beyond.

Motorists were also warned against the habit of engaging in panic buying or stockpiling the products in jerry cans at home, emphasizing the dangers involved in such practices.

The corporation added that its downstream subsidiary companies — the Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC) and NNPC Retail Limited — are “fully geared up” to ensure uninterrupted supply of petroleum to motorists and other users of the product across the country.
