During the BlackOut on Tuesday to protest against the death of George Floyd in the United States, a large number of clubs and sportsmen joined the call. Among them, icons like Lionel Messi, LeBron James or clubs like West Bromwich Albion.

But what shocked social networks yesterday was a fan of the English club currently in the second division, who took offence at seeing West’Brom join this movement in the fight against racism. At the bottom of the club post, he said he was withdrawing his membership from the club. “Pathetic. I cancel my subscription. Ciao, ” he says.

But West Brom replied, letting him know that he will not be missed at the club. A response much appreciated on Twitter, or several other Internet users congratulated the administrator of the club on the social network.

This message also shows that racism is far, far from being eradicated not only in the world of sport but also in society.
