Senate Under My Watch Was Not A Rubber Stamp - Lawan

The Nigerian Senate adjourned its plenary for two weeks as part of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, who disclosd these resolutions of the Senate after a closed-door session of the upper chamber also urged the Federal Government to devote special funds to fight the dreaded disease.

Naija news Understands the call for two weeks break came after a report came that several senators and lawmakers who traveled out has failed to observe the necessary fourteen days self-isolation requirement by the Nigerian Center for Diseases and Control.

In view of this flagrant disobedience, The Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, has threatened to publish the names of those who failed to comply to the directive to isolate themselves to help the quest to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

Ehanire issued the threat on Monday in Abuja while updating newsmen on the COVID19 pandemic in the country.
