‘Peter Obi Is Clueless Now’ – Presidency

The presidency has slammed the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), 2027 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his recent interview regarding how two former presidents promptly responded to his calls.

Naija News reports that Peter Obi, during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, recalled how he called on former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and the late Musa Yar’Adua to some critical situations while he was governor of Anambra State.

He said, “Forget security, I had erosion in a place called Umuchiyiani in Ekulobia, and by 2am, my phone rang, they said there was erosion and a house collapsed into it.

“I left my place in Awka, drove to that site at 2am and called Obasanjo from there. I said I’m in a village and erosion had just taken place there, a building had fallen and he answered me at 2am.

“When I had one of the most critical robberies I called President Yar’Adua and he was calling me daily until that situation was over.”

Reacting to the interview via his 𝕏 handle, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has described Peter Obi as clueless.

He wrote, “Obi was clueless then and is clueless now.”

Meanwhile, Peter Obi has said he is willing to give up his ambition to hold public office if a proper review of his records shows that he is not fit to serve Nigeria.

The former Labour Party presidential candidate said those seeking political positions should be carefully examined before they are elected into office.

He said he has no problem with anyone checking his background, records, or past actions if it would help Nigerians make informed decisions about those asking for their votes.
