I’ve Petitioned EFCC, He Will Not Escape – Arabambi Speaks On Corruption Allegations Against Peter Obi

A chieftain of the Labour Party, Abayomi Arabambi has called on Peter Obi to withdraw from the 2027 presidential race, claiming he has documents that allegedly contain information about financial issues involving the former Anambra State governor.

Naija News reports that Arabambi made the claim during an interview with Symfoni TV, where he said he plans to release the documents through the station for Nigerians to review before the next general election.

He alleged that the materials contain records he believes should be examined publicly and insisted that Obi should not continue with plans to contest under the proposed political platform for the 2027 election until the issues are addressed.

The Labour Party chieftain also claimed that he had submitted petitions to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over what he described as questionable campaign accounts allegedly linked to Obi’s political activities.

According to Arabambi, some accounts were opened with commercial banks without the knowledge of certain Labour Party leaders, adding that the party became aware of the arrangements when approval documents were later requested for transactions involving the accounts.

He claimed the accounts and related documents should be investigated by the anti-graft agency, saying he had provided materials that he believes would support his claims.

Arabambi further questioned the involvement of some individuals connected to the accounts, alleging that key party officials, including Julius Abure and the party secretary, were not aware when the banking arrangements were made.

He said, “I have more than 95% of corruption made by Peter Obi, and he must step aside from this presidential election because he only asked for 1%. But what I’m going to show Nigerians via your television station will be so alarming. They are facts, they are CTCs, I am not a baby.

“I have petitioned the EFCC because Obi will never escape; I petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and these are the four accounts that must be investigated.”
