Police Mum On Arrest Of PFIPC DG’s Father, Friend

Police operatives, on Monday, arrested the father of the Director General of the Presidential Fiscal and Infrastructure Projects Council (PFIPC), Adeyemi Adeniyi, in connection with the ongoing investigation into alleged forgery linked to the purported council.

The operatives stormed the Ogbomoso residence of Adeyemi’s family and arrested his father alongside a family friend who had visited the family.

The Force Headquarters spokesman, Anietie Iniedu, when contacted by Punch, said he had not been briefed on the arrest.

Despite being informed that operatives from the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) carried out the operation, Iniedu asked for the exact unit involved.

“I have not been briefed on the arrest. Who picked him up? Which section? Which section in FCID? The police force is large. Tell me the section, so, I can find out from them,” he said.

Efforts to reach him afterwards were unsuccessful.

Several messages sent to his telephone seeking comments on the arrest and on whether a forensic examination had been conducted on the signature of the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, had not been replied to as of the time of filing this report.

Consequently, anyone seeking updates regarding the alleged arrest of his parents in Ogbomoso or any other developments in the case is kindly advised to contact the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, or the FCID Liaison Public Relations Officer for accurate and official information,” Ayanlade said.
