You Cannot Reduce Graduates To Akara, Corn Sellers – Tanko Knocks Remi Tinubu

National coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, has shared his thoughts on a statement by the First Lady, Remi Tinubu, advising Nigerians to consider small-scale businesses to survive the country’s economic hardship.

Naija News recalls that Tinubu, while addressing journalists, explained the administration’s support for small businesses through grants rather than loans.

She said, “To start akara business doesn’t take a lot of money. To start roasting corn or kuli-kuli doesn’t take much. We didn’t give them a loan, we gave them a grant. We have encouraged Nigerians as best as we could. I also gave to several others.”

Reacting during an appearance on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ on Wednesday, Tanko argued that someone who has gone to the university cannot be reduced to an akara and corn seller.

He said it was that narrative that the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, was coming to change.

You cannot reduce people who have studied at the university to Akara and corn sellers.

“Peter Obi plans to turn the fortunes of Nigerians such that when you go to school, you deserve to earn according to what you have learned.

“This man has been able to talk about the educational system in his state, transforming the children of that particular state from to the sixth position to number one.

“This same person has been able to secure the life and properties of his people. Who wouldn’t want that person as a president?” He asked.
