‘Bindow Is Coming’ – VP Shettima Hints At Fresh APC Defection

The Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, has hinted that a former Governor of Adamawa State, Senator Muhammad Jibrilla Bindow, may be set to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Shettima dropped the hint in a statement on Thursday following a meeting with Bindow.

According to Shettima, his meeting with the former Governor focused on politics, security, governance and issues of common interest.

He wrote, “BINDOW IS COMING!

“I had fruitful discussions today in my office with my friend, brother and contemporary, Sen. Bindo Umaru Jibrilla, former Governor of Adamawa State, on politics, security, governance and issues of common interest.”

Naija News recalls that Bindow had in 2023, resigned from the APC.

Bindow, in the letter dated January 20, 2023, noted categorically that his supporters across the State would be joining him in leaving the APC to build a harmonious Adamawa.

Bindow explained that he dumped APC due to a lack of genuine reconciliation of stakeholders within the party.

Also, Bindow, who later teamed up with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), withdrew from the 2027 Adamawa governorship contest under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Bindow announced his decision, saying the withdrawal was based on personal reasons after what he described as deep reflection and careful consideration.

The former governor, however, reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals, leadership and aspirations of the ADC, stressing that he remains loyal and dedicated to the growth and success of the party in Adamawa State and across the country.

However, the latest developments based on the Vice President’s statement suggest that Bindow may rejoin the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
