Mourinho Ready To Offload Camavinga, Tchouameni As Real Madrid Eye Enzo Fernandez

Incoming Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly urged the club to consider offers for midfielders Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni as he plans a major rebuild at the Santiago Bernabeu.

According to The Athletic, Mourinho believes changes are needed in midfield to create space for a more creative presence in the squad.

Camavinga is among the players the Portuguese coach is prepared to let go. However, sources close to the France international insist it would be “impossible” for the 23-year-old to leave Madrid.

Tchouameni is also facing an uncertain future and could attract interest from Manchester United.

The midfielder is said to be available for transfer following a difficult campaign that reportedly included a dressing-room dispute with Federico Valverde.

Mourinho has informed club officials that a midfield departure is necessary if Madrid are to recruit the type of playmaker he feels the squad currently lacks.

His preferred target is Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez. The Argentina international would reportedly cost around £120 million.

Fernandez is understood to be open to a new challenge and would favour a move to Real Madrid if an agreement can be reached.

Meanwhile, Mourinho has highlighted his admiration for Los Blancos ahead of his expected return to the Spanish capital.

The 63-year-old, who is set for a second spell at the Bernabeu, declared Real Madrid the biggest club in world football and placed them above long-time rivals Barcelona.

“Real Madrid is the best club in the world. Barcelona is one of the best after Real Madrid,” Mourinho said.

He also rejected the widely held view that Barcelona’s style of football sets them apart from every other side.

“Barcelona is seen as the team that plays amazing style, the team that scores a lot of goals. But this is a big contradiction,” he said.

“The team that scored the most goals in the history of Spanish football was my Real Madrid team in 2011/12, with 121 goals and 100 points in one season.”
