Presidency Attacks Sowore, Atiku, Peter Obi Over Presidential Ambition
The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has accused Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and Omoyele Sowore of attacking the President because they want to take power from him in 2027.
Bwala said the opposition figures were criticising Tinubu’s life, politics and policies without offering Nigerians a clear alternative.
Naija News reports that Bwala made the remarks in a post on 𝕏.
According to Bwala, a close look at the opposition leaders raises questions about their character, politics and philosophy.
Bwala wrote, “When you see these people wanting to take power from @officialABAT and constantly attacking his life, politics and policies, you would be forced to shake your head in disbelief.
“If you closely look at them, their character, politics and philosophy, you wonder what element they are.”
Bwala accused Sowore of using his political party to secure a presidential ticket through adoption.
He further stated, “@sowore Sowore, who opens a political party and appoints himself as the national chairman in order to secure a presidential ticket by way of adoption.
“Then, when election time approaches, he hands the chairmanship back. After losing the election, he collects the chairmanship back until the next election. Is he a democrat?”
‘Obi Jumps From Party To Party’
The presidential aide also accused Obi of moving from one party to another in search of a guaranteed ticket.
Bwala said, “To @PeterObi who jumps from one party to another in search of a guaranteed ticket without primaries; meanwhile, his deceived foot soldiers are subjected to primaries in the same party where he secures his ticket by adoption.
“The foot soldiers and rabble rousers have all lost their primaries because politics is more than activism that they are good at.”
Bwala also criticised Atiku, saying the former Vice-President changes political parties in pursuit of his ambition but condemns others who do the same.
“To @atiku Wazirin Adamawa, who believes he has the right to change political parties in search of his ambition and that is ok by him, but the minute those who supported him also pursue their aspirations away from him, he classifies them as lacking character and betrayers,” he said.
He described the situation as “a classic case of slave and slave master.”
Bwala added, “Under him, no one has the right to become president until he resigns from politics. Wanting to use Peter Obi and benefit from his followers, when Obi left, Obi is a bad man.”
The presidential aide said Tinubu had shown himself to be more democratic than his critics.
He argued that even though Tinubu was a sitting President and could have been adopted by consensus, the APC still held a primary because another member expressed interest.
Bwala said, “President Tinubu is more of a democrat than they all.
“@officialABAT as a sitting president who should have the option of first refusal, and we could have simply had a consensus, but when a member of our party said he too wants to run, a primary was initiated so he will not be stifled. Now, who is a democrat? You tell me.”
Bwala said the opposition aspirants had failed to present a clear alternative to Nigerians.
He added, “What all these opposition aspirants are doing everyday is to simply make noise about our government without offering a clear alternative path.
“Taking advantage of any misfortune that happens to Nigerians as a talking point, calling us with all sorts of names, without making a good case for their aspirations. Talk is cheap.”
