Atiku Reacts To Claims He’s Too Old To Connect With Nigerian Youths
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reacted to claims that his age may stop him from connecting with young Nigerians ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Naija News reports that Atiku spoke during an interview aired by Arise News on Thursday, shortly after emerging as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
During the interview, a journalist raised concerns about whether the former Vice President could still attract the support of young Nigerians because of his age.
Reacting to the question, Atiku dismissed the claim and said he still has a strong connection with the youth across the country.
He said young Nigerians are like his children, adding that his decision to contest in the next presidential election is partly because of them.
“How will I not resonate with the Nigerian youths? They are my children. I am doing it because of them”, he said.
The former Vice President maintained that he understands the struggles facing young people in Nigeria and believes he still has a role to play in the country’s future.
In other news, Atiku has stated that it is not yet time to celebrate.
Atiku stated this via a post on 𝕏 while reacting to his emergence as the flagbearer of the ADC in the 2027 presidential election.
