Wikki Tourists Player Dies In Tragic Road Accident

Wikki Tourists FC have announced the death of their defender, Kabiru Mohammed, following a fatal road accident along the Zaria-Gusau road.

Naija News reports that the Bauchi-based club disclosed the incident in a statement posted on its official Facebook page.

“The club is deeply saddened to announce the tragic death of Mohammed following a fatal accident along the Zaria–Gusau road,” the statement read.

According to the club, Mohammed joined Wikki Tourists from Lobi Stars FC during the ongoing 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The club said the defender quickly became an important member of the team’s backline after his arrival.

Wikki Tourists described him as a committed and disciplined player who showed passion for the game throughout his time with the club.

The statement added that Mohammed earned the respect of his teammates, coaches and supporters through his dedication to the team.

Wikki Tourists said Mohammed’s last appearance for the club came during the President’s Federation Cup match against Jigawa Golden Stars Junior Team.

The match was played at the Nasara Stadium, Kofar Doka, Zaria, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

The club noted that his contributions to the team would not be forgotten.

The management, technical crew, players and supporters of Wikki Tourists expressed sadness over the defender’s death.

“The Management, Technical Crew, Players and supporters of Wikki Tourists FC extend heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the entire football community over this painful loss,” the statement added.

The club said Mohammed’s dedication, discipline and contributions to Wikki Tourists would remain part of its memory.

Wikki Tourists FC are the main football club owned by the Bauchi State Government.
