Liverpool Adjust Anfield Ticket Price Amid Fans Protest
Liverpool has reduced their planned ticket price increases for the next two seasons following protests by supporters and talks with fan representatives.
The English Premier League club confirmed that general admission ticket prices will now increase by three per cent for the 2026-27 season, while there will be a full price freeze for the 2027-28 campaign.
The decision represents a major shift from Liverpool’s earlier plan to introduce increases in line with inflation over a three-year period.
Naija News reports that the revised ticket policy followed sustained pressure from supporters’ groups, who had criticised the rising cost of attending matches at Anfield.
Despite the adjustment, season ticket prices at Anfield will still go up next season.
Under the revised structure, the cheapest season ticket in the Kop will be £734.50, while the most expensive seat in the Main Stand will rise to £931.
Matchday tickets will range from £30 in the Anfield Road Stand to £62.75 in the Main Stand.
The club said the new approach followed discussions with the supporters’ board and other fan representatives.
In a joint statement issued on Thursday, fan representative groups welcomed the club’s decision to drop the previously announced three-year pricing model.
They said, “We welcome the decision that Liverpool FC will no longer proceed with its previously announced three-year ticket pricing model.”
The groups noted that the revised approach would create more room for talks on long-term affordability and access for supporters.
They added, “We understand that disappointment at next season’s increase in ticket prices will remain for some, but we want to assure fans we will continue talks with the club and do our best to find other ways in the future.”
Supporters’ groups, including Spirit of Shankly, had earlier launched a campaign urging fans to spend outside Anfield rather than inside the stadium as part of their protest against rising costs.
The campaign was aimed at showing the club the strength of feeling among supporters over matchday affordability.
Many fans argued that while Liverpool continues to compete at the top level financially and commercially, ticket pricing must remain fair for regular supporters.
Although Liverpool has accepted the revised short-term changes, the club warned that future inflation-linked increases may still be necessary if alternative revenue options are not found.
The club said it would continue talks with fan representatives over the coming seasons as both sides seek a sustainable approach to ticket pricing.
