Petit Warns Fabregas Against Chelsea Job As Terry Fears Player Sales

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has urged Cesc Fabregas to steer clear of the managerial vacancy at Chelsea FC following the dismissal of Liam Rosenior.

Speculation has linked the Como boss with the role after another period of upheaval at Stamford Bridge. Fabregas has gained praise as one of Europe’s most promising young coaches while pushing Como 1907 towards the Champions League places.

Speaking to Andy’s Bet Club, Petit said the Spaniard should instead focus on a future move to FC Barcelona, describing Chelsea as unstable for a young manager.

“Cesc Fabregas to Chelsea? No, no, no. If you have to choose between Chelsea and Barcelona, you definitely go to Barcelona, not Chelsea. Chelsea is a mess. It’s a mess,” Petit told Andy’s Bet Club.

“It’s a nightmare for managers; it’s kind of a nightmare as well for the players, actually. You will find more serenity even if you face a lot of pressure in Barcelona.”

Meanwhile, club legend John Terry fears the west London side could be forced into selling key players this summer and may miss out on European competition next season.

The former England defender made the comments in a TikTok clip after Rosenior’s departure, questioning whether elite coaches would be keen on the job.

“Is a real top manager going to come to Chelsea FC at the moment in the position we’re in? We cannot buy players, looking like we’re going to have to sell potentially our best players, which is always tough,” Terry stated.

“We will not be playing in European football, I hope I’m wrong.”
