Governor Sule Presents Senator Wadada To Tinubu As Nasarawa APC Consensus Candidate
Governor Abdullahi Sule has presented Senator Aliyu Wadada to President Bola Tinubu as the Nasarawa State All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
Naija News reports that Governor Sule presented Senator Wadada to President Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
It would be recalled that Governor Sule had earlier declared Senator Aliyu Wadada as his preferred governorship candidate under the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sule made the disclosure during a meeting with political appointees at the Government House in Lafia, signalling early political alignments as the race for his successor gathers momentum.
Wadada, who currently represents Nasarawa West in the 10th Senate, recently defected from the Social Democratic Party to the APC, a move widely seen as positioning himself for the governorship contest.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that the party is not considering automatic tickets for National Assembly members ahead of the 2027 elections.
Naija News reports that Yilwatda made this clarification during a media chat in Abuja.
Yilwatda noted that both the party’s constitution and the Electoral Act clearly define how candidates must emerge.
The APC chairman maintained that all aspirants within the party would be subjected to the same process without exception, adding that performance would be a deciding factor for those seeking re-election.
