Breaking: Campaign Council Speaks On Dino Melaye Withdrawing From Kogi Governorship Race

The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 11 election in Kogi State, Dino Melaye has accused the Governor of the State of importing thugs from Ogun, Lagos and Oyo State to intimidate voters.

Naija News reports that Melaye, while addressing a press conference on Thursday, accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of distributing fake police uniforms and camouflage among APC thugs to parade as policemen and soldiers to unleash terror on innocent citizens of the state on election day.

“Intelligence available to our campaign reveals that the APC has sown fake police uniforms, camouflage which has already been brought into Kogi state had has ready to be distributed among APC thugs to parade as policemen and soldiers and unleash terror on innocent kogites on election day,” Melaye said.

The former Senator further alleged that the Kogi state governor is bringing a set of thugs and hoodlums from Ijebu in Ogun state.

He further alleged that ” hired thugs have also been invited from Lagos and Saki in Oyo State.”

Melaye’s comment comes just as the Inspector General Of Police, (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, revealed that police officers that will be on election duties have been given clearance to take decisive actions against those planning to undermine the conduct of the off-cycle election in Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa.

Bello, who is presently in his second term as governor of Kogi State, is making efforts to guarantee that canidate of the ruling party, Usman Ododo, win the November 11 governorship election.
