Atiku’s Lawyer, Ozekhome Reacts To Supreme Court Judgement (Video)

Mike Ozekhome, one of the lawyers of the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the Supreme Court judgement which affirmed the election of President Bola Tinubu.

Naija News reported that the Supreme Court, on Thursday, dismissed the appeal filed by Atiku and his Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, against the election of President Tinubu.

In a unanimous verdict read by the lead justice of a seven-justice panel, Justice Inyang Okoro, the court ruled that the appeal filed by Atiku lacked merit.

Speaking with reporters after the verdict, Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), said the development shows that the country is a work in progress.

He said, “Nigeria is a work in progress.”

Buhari Reacts As Supreme Court Affirms Tinubu’s Victory

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has welcomed the ruling of the Supreme Court, which dismissed the appeals against the election of President Tinubu.

In a statement on Thursday by his media aide, Garba Shehu, the former president said the decision of the apex court to dismiss the appeals by Atiku and Obi is a welcome relief to him.

He said the affirmation of Tinubu’s victory by the apex court was a reaffirmation of the will of the majority of the people against the determined will of a hard-fighting minority.

The former president, therefore, wished the President and his team a successful term in office.
