The Bayelsa State Governor, Duoye Diri, has expressed optimism that President Bola Tinubu would not allow federal might at the forthcoming governorship polls in the state.

According to him, the President has said he is not anti-democratic; therefore, he is sure there won’t be use of federal might at the November 11 polls.

Naija News reports that Diri made this observation on Thursday at the inauguration of the national campaign council for the November 11 Bayelsa State governorship election.

The governor, during the ceremony at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, warned that the main opposition party must not be complacent given the alleged hostile intentions of his main rival at the poll.

Diri, optimistic about victory at the election due to his satisfactory performance in his first term, noted, “When a blind man says he will stone you, he is already sitting on a stone. We must do all that is necessary to remove that stone.”

This platform learned that the governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, is the chairman of the campaign council.
