The 10th Senate led by Godswill Akpabio is expected to screen the last two ministerial nominees of President Bola Tinubu today (Monday).

Naija News recalls that President Tinubu last week nominated Festus Keyamo (Delta) and Mariya Mahmud Bunkere (Kano) for ministerial positions.

Bunkere’s name was swapped for Maryam Shetty who was earlier nominated as minister from Kano State.

Shetty’s replacement is said to have served as a commissioner when the former Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje was in office.

The senate screened some ministerial nominees on Saturday which include Bosun Tijani (Ogun), Iziaq Salako (Ogun), Lola Ade-John (Lagos), Prof Tahir Mamman (Adamawa) and Uba Maigari Ahmadu (Taraba).

The Senate, however, deferred the screening of Keyamo and Bunkere for Monday.

Why President Tinubu Removed Maryam Shetty From Ministerial List – Ganduje Speaks

In other news, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has revealed why President Tinubu removed ‘Shetty’ from his ministerial nominee list.

Ganduje when giving the reason why Shetty’s name was removed said social media outrage that trailed her appointment was instrumental to the latter action.

He added that the nominee was not well known to them in the APC camp; hence the stakeholders could not appraise her
