2023 League Bloggers Awards’ Nominees For NPFL End Of Season Awards

The League Bloggers Awards (LBA) will hold the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) end-of-the-season award on August 22, 2023.

This year’s edition of the award show comes with 11 major categories and the award ceremony will be held at the Lagos Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The LBA which started in 2009 recognizes and awards top-performing clubs, coaches, players, and stakeholders of the NPFL at the end of every season.

The category of the award which most football enthusiasts are looking forward to is the NPFL Player of the season. Enyimba’s Chukwuemeka Obioma, who ended the 2022-2023 season as the league’s top scorer with 16 goals, is the major contender for the award.

However, the prolific goalscorer would have to contend with Remo Stars’ goalkeeper, Kayode Bankole, and Rivers United’s left-back, Ebube Duru, for the prestigious award.

Coach Monday Odigie of Bendel Insurance, Daniel Ogunmodede of Remo Stars, and title-winning Enyimba manager Finidi George are the three contenders for the NPFL Coach of the Season award.

In this year’s edition of the award, the LBA has announced that a company and a state government will be recognized for their contributions to the success of the 2022-2023 season.

A statement from the organizers of the award show read, “The League Bloggers Awards is thrilled to announce that as preparations enter the final stages for the start of the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League season, it will look to begin the start of the new season by celebrating the outstanding players from the 2022/23 league season.”
