Excitement In Kano As Ahmed Musa’s Slashes Fuel Price At His Petrol Station

The captain of the Super Eagles, Ahmed Musa has reduced the price of petrol at his fuel station in Kano to help alleviate the financial strain on Nigerians resulting from increased fuel prices.

Naija News had earlier reported that Musa announced the price cut from N620 to N580 per litre on his Twitter account on Monday.

Following President Bola Tinubu’s termination of fuel subsidies two months ago, the price of fuel has climbed twice, reaching as high as N620 per litre or more in many areas of the country.

This has led to a sharp increase in living and transportation costs nationwide.

Musa, a forward for Sivasspor, told The Punch that his decision was aimed at easing the burden on everyday people.

“It’s the best that I can do for my people here,” he said, emphasizing the difficult economic conditions many are facing.

“No matter how small the reduction is, we can live better with that. It’s tough now and I know people are struggling to survive daily,” he added.

The football star, who also happens to be Nigeria’s most capped player with 108 appearances since his debut at age 17 in 2010, hopes to expand his fuel station operation across the country before he retires from football.

“Hopefully, MYCA7 will be in other parts of the country pretty soon,” he stated.
