Benin Republic President Visits Tinubu In Aso Rock

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently meeting with President Patrice Talon of Benin Republic.

Naija News reports that the meeting is taking place inside the presidential office in the State House, Abuja.

After the meeting, a statement from the Presidency said ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government have deployed President Talon on immediate mission to Niger over the coup attempt.

This publication earlier reported that some disgruntled presidential guard members, on Wednesday, sealed off access to the president’s residence and offices after the Nigerien Army gave them an ultimatum.

After talk broke down between the army and Bazoum, the guards refused to release the President in an attempted coup.

Following the development, President Tinubu, who is the Chairperson of the ECOWAS Heads of Government, and ECOWAs have condemned the detention of President Bazoum by members of the Presidential Guard.
