Joy Ajanaku, the wife of the late Prophet Ajanaku, has called out Nigerian gospel singer, Tope Alabi, for being ungrateful.

Naija News reports that Joy, in a viral video online, expressed displeasure at how the singer allegedly neglected her after her husband’s demise.

The relationship between Ajanaku and the ‘Amen’ crooner is no new thing, as the former is perceived to have contributed to the music ministry of Tope.

Hence, Ajanaku’s wife claims that it is surprising that the gospel singer has failed to offer any support to her family despite their close relationship spanning over 12 years.

According to her, Tope Alabi’s lack of communication and empathy has been hurtful, given the once-close bond they shared.

The widow also asserted that Tope Alabi’s melodious voice, for which she is renowned in the Gospel music industry, was influenced by her late husband.

He added that her husband played a huge role in transforming Tope Alabi’s voice, which currently captivates millions of listeners.

Tope Alabi Speaks On Controversy Over Song Lyrics

Meanwhile, Tope Alabi has responded to a controversy arising from a viral video.

In this video, Alabi is seen singing in Yoruba, using the phrase ‘Aboru Aboye,’ a greeting common among Ifa initiates.

In her song, Alabi referred to herself as ‘ebo,’ meaning sacrifice in English, and sang, “Abiye ni mi, Oruko mi ni yen. Mo de bo, mo ru, mo ye,” which translates to “I am a sacrifice, that’s my name. I am a sacrifice accepted by God, that’s my name.”

These lyrics sparked mixed reactions from her fans and some Christian leaders who questioned her choice of words.

In a recent video, Alabi, who was ministering in a white garment church, clarified that the phrase “Aboru Aboye” is pure Yoruba and is not solely used by traditionalists
