Heart Wrenching Video Of Father Weeping As He Pursues NDLEA Officials Who Allegedly Killed His Son

A heart breaking video of the father of two-year-old boy, Ivan Onose Omhonrina, Fidelis Omhonrina, chasing after operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), who allegedly shot his son dead at Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta state on Thursday, July 13, 2023, has surfaced on social media.

Naija News reports that video captured the father weeping profusely as he pursued the officers with his car after they allegedly fired the shot that killed his son and also left his second son with injuries.

The little boy, who was simply identified as Onose, Naija News understands, was killed by a stray bullet on Thursday, when men of the drug agency were chasing suspected drugs dealers in Asaba.

The heart breaking video showed the officers driving away while the distraught father continued to pursue them amidst weeping over the sudden loss of his son.

Speaking on the unfortunate incident, a Delta state based human rights activist, Israel Ojie, condemned the incident, even as he accused operatives of the drugs agency of extortion.

He said: “We call on the authorities of the said body to get into investigations and unravel circumstances that led to the death of this young boy and injury to his younger brother. I have contacted our Comrades in Asaba to meet up the parents right now at FMC where the younger brother is been treated and also make a report to the police for proper documentation.”

It was gathered that the state commissioner of police, CP Wale Abass has ordered for the immediate transfer of the case from the GRA police station to the police headquarters.
