Tinubu Joins Other Leaders At ECOWAS Summit In Guinea Bissau (Photos)

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Sunday, attended the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in Bissau, the capital of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.

Naija News reports that the summit will address several important regional topics and also feature discussions on the ECOWAS Single Currency Programme and a report on the obstacles to the free movement of goods along the Abidjan-Lagos corridor.

The Summit will also take a look at the report from the 50th Ordinary Session of the Mediation and Security Council (MSC) concerning security challenges within member nations; a report from the 90th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers about the group’s financial situation and implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA); and a report on the state of political transition in the Republics of Mali, Burkina Faso, and Guinea.

Recall that the president visited the Nigerian Troops stationed in Bissau as part of the ECOWAS Stabilisation Force.

Tinubu visted the troops on arrival at the Aeroporto International Guinea-Bissau ahead of the 63rd Ordinary session of the Authority of Head of State and Goverment of the Economic Community of West African State ECOWAS.

He is accompanied by Force Commander ECOWAS Stabilisation Force, Brigadier General Al-hassan Grema, National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Adamu Lamuwa.
