The Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has condemned the outcome of Saturday’s election.

Naija News reports that Rhodes-Vivour made this known during an interview with Arise TV.

The LP flagbearer said he will never call to congratulate Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his victory at the poll.

He described the election as a sham stating it is an illegality that has never been perpetrated in the history of the state.

Gbadebo also referenced how Labour Party agents were chased away from several polling units and supporters were not allowed to vote.

Giving a reason why he would not congratulate Sanwo-Olu, the LP candidate said the election was marred with so much violence that has set a bad precedence.

Meanwhile, Rhodes-Vivour (GRV) has declared that he won the 2023 governorship election following the massive lead of Sanwo-Olu as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and incumbent who is seeking reelection has 718,595 votes at the collation of 15 local government results on Sunday.

Sanwo-Olu is ahead of Labour Party (LP)’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour who presently has 257,502 from the 19 LGs announced so far.

Speaking about the election, Gbadebo via his Twitter handle on Sunday declared that he won the election, adding that he’s saddened by the violence and gross disenfranchisement of voters who wished to perform their civic rights.
