Findings Reveal Alleged Photo Of Lagos LP Deputy Governorship Candidate Smoking Is False

With barely 48 hours to the rescheduled Governorship and House of Assembly elections, the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State has been entangled with a series of propaganda and controversies.

Naija News reports that a few days ago, self-acclaimed investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, alleged that a certain deputy governor of a political party was involved in drugs.

Kemi later shared a collage photo of LP deputy Governorship candidate, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi, claiming she was the woman in the viral hookah-smoking image.

She wrote: “Deputy Governorship candidate in Lagos State”

The photo was shared on various social media platforms and also made headlines on some news platforms (not Naija News).

However, findings have shown that the photo is not the image of the LP deputy gubernatorial candidate.

Oyefusi also addressed the viral image in a post via her Twitter page, clarified that the lady in the picture is not her and tagged the narrative as propaganda.

She wrote: “Obidents doesn’t do propaganda, we talk to real issues that affect the people. It will not win you election. This is not me, is I will never stoop low to your gutters or dignify you with my reply. Obi Ade ko kin jags bi era. Meaning the crown never fights like slaves”

According to a fact-checking organization, Dubawa, the photo’s origin could not be identified as it had been used earlier on social media platforms with different narratives.

The General Secretary of LP in Lagos State, Sam Okpala, in a phone interview with Dubawa, stated the claim is false, adding that Oyefusi is a respected Princess in the state.

He said: “Our deputy governorship candidate is a respected Princess in Lagos, and she does not smoke”

Comparative analysis of the hookah-smoking lady and Abiodun Oyefusi on forensic highlights also show differences in their finger knuckles and nose features.
