Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, has reacted to the humiliating defeat his side suffered yesterday at Anfield in their English Premier League clash against Liverpool.

Naija News reports that Liverpool beat the visiting team 7-0 on Sunday evening. The Red Devils’ defence line could not save Erik Ten Hag from a historic embarrassment as Jurgen Klopp’s side went wild in the second half of the encounter.

A brace each from Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah, and a goal from Roberto Firmino gave Liverpool a winning, pushing the Reds to 5th position in the league table while holding on to 42 points with a match in hand.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Fernandes admitted that the match was “Very frustrating, disappointing, sad because it’s a really bad result. We came here with a different mindset before the game.”

The Portuguese star though insisted that Manchester United was ‘really good’ in the first half against Liverpool, he said: “We had a lot of chances. We controlled most of the first half, I think, they did not create that much.”

“[In the second half] we tried to go forward and score goals and we lost a bit of balance. We gave too much space away against this kind of team. We have to avoid that,” Fernandes admitted.
