As the collation of the results for the February 25 presidential election continues in Lagos State, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi is putting up a fight for the state with the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

Lagos State is the base of Tinubu, who was a two-term governor of the state from 1999 to 2007.

Naija News reports that as of 3:40 am on Monday, the results presented from 17 of the state’s 20 indicate that Tinubu is leading in 10 while Obi is leading in seven LGAs.

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Olusegun Agbaje opened the floor at the state collation centre in the Yaba area of the state on Sunday.

It was gathered that the 17 local government areas (LGAs) include Lagos Mainland, Ikorodu, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos Island, Badagry, Agege, Ikeja, Shomolu, Kosofe, Amuwo Odofin, Eti Osa, Surulere, Apapa, Ifako Ijaiye, Ajeromi, Oshodi Isolo.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as learnt has asked the Mushin LGA to present its result afresh because they were cleared by the state collation officer and yet to be signed by most party agents because the Inter-party Advisory Committee (IPAC) had contested the results.

This platform also learnt that the collation officer for Eti Osa LGA could not specify the number of polling units elections was disrupted, as she was asked to do so and return with specifics.

There are two more local governments to be announced in the state, that is Ojo and Alimosho.

Of the 87, 209,007 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected nationwide for the election, 6,214,970 PVCs were collected in Lagos. This is closely followed by Kano with 5,594,193, and Kaduna with 4,164, 473.
