Large Turnout In FCT Satellite Towns As INEC Officials Absent At Dawaki Polling Units

The officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC are yet to arrive at several polling units in Dawaki Area of Bwari Area Council.

Naija News learnt that Polling Units 004, Dawaki Primary school, 064 Dawaki Junior Secondary, 063, Dawaki Extension, Chief Palace, and News Engineering, all in Dawaki, are yet to receive INEC officials and material as of 9:42 am.

A voter, Demian Ebemeri, who spoke with DAILY POST said he arrived at the polling unit at precisely 8:00 am, but the officials of INEC were nowhere to be found.

He said: “I don’t know why the INEC officials and materials for voting are yet to be here. Some people left their houses as early as 6:30 am to be here.

“My expectation is that the election should be free and fair”

Meanwhile, there was a large turnout of voters in the Usuma ward in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

The INEC, officials have commenced accreditation and the voters were seen in groups taking numbers in the order they arrived at their polling units.

A voter, Adeboye Moses, said the large turnout of voters is encouraging.

He said: “The turnout is impressive, and I know our votes will count at the end of the day.

“I came here as early as 6.30 a.m, and I am eager to cast my vote for my preferred candidate”
