The Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) response to a question on the thousands of Permanent Voters Card (PVC) discovered in Nnewi Forest has sparked various reactions.

Naija News recalls that a hunter had discovered a bag filled with thousands of PVCs in a forest in Anambra state.

The hunter reportedly stumbled on the bag containing the PVCs during his hunting exercise on Tuesday in a forest in Akamili, Umudim, which is a community in the Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra.

He took the PVCs to the premises of Authority FM, a local radio station in the community, apparently to publicise the discovery to the owners of the PVCs for collection.

The development has elicited a lot of outrage from Nigerians.

The police has however stated that they are investigating the situation.

In a recent interview on Arise TV, the Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Victor Aluko when asked if the PVCs discovered in Nnewi forest were part of the 87.2m dispersed to the electorates he could not give a straightforward answer and simply said that PVC’s are either in the INEC facilities or with the electorates.
