The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended the 2023 Direct Entry (DE) registration process till further notice.

The registration period, which had begun on Monday, February 20, has been suspended as of Tuesday, February 21, according to a statement from JAMB.

In a statement signed by the head of public affairs and protocol for JAMB Fabian Benjamin, the board said the suspension is to allow “the deployment of specific procedures, which are aimed to better assist potential candidates.”

The examination board stated that the registration period was to end on Thursday, April 20; nevertheless, they have already announced a new process that will begin in the nearest future.

In the statement, the board also said that the new registration processes would include the “upload of JAMB admission Letter in the case of OND and NCE, admission letter issued by universities in the case of a university diploma, and admission letter issued by A’ level examination bodies (IJMBE, JUPEB, etc.).”

The examination board further stated that only JAMB offices across the country are authorized to register applicants for direct entry and that applicants would be alerted as soon as the revised dates were available.

Meanwhile, Naija News has reported that JAMB has extended its 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration by a week earlier this month.

The one-week registration extension began Wednesday, February 15, 2023. While the sale of ePINs ended on February 20, 2023, applicants are allowed to continue with the UTME registration till Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
