Some supporters of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, were on Wednesday attacked in Surulere, Lagos State.

Naija News reports that the incident occurred after some of the supporters joined the Deputy Governorship candidate of LP, Princess Oyefusi, to campaign at the Aguda Market, in Surulere.

According to one of the ‘Obidents’ the thugs disrupted the market campaign and one supporter got stabbed during the fracas.

They expressed displeasure at how LP supporters are being attacked in Lagos state when the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can take their campaign to other states without facing such humiliation.

Why I Campaign In Market Places

Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has explained why he always takes his campaigns for the 2023 presidency to the market.

He described the markets as the place that reinforces his strategy about taking Nigeria from consumption to production and meeting those that matter in achieving his aim.

According to Obi, functional markets are the roots, and visiting them allows him to hear the problems of traders, business people, industrialists, and agriculturalists so as to be able to make promises of a better time for them.

Naija News reports he stated this on Monday night during a Channels TV interview.
