Buhari’s Meeting With Governors Over Cash Scarcity Cancelled

Meanwhile, PresidentMuhammadu Buhari on Tuesday was expected to meet with Nigerian Governors over the scarcity of naira in the country.

However, the meeting between the state Governors and President Buhari has been cancelled.

A source in the presidency that spoke with Punch on Monday revealed that the President would meet the governors to discuss the crisis trailing the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) new naira policy.

The meeting was, however, cancelled four days after the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors met with President Buhari over the policy.

President Buhari in his response to the demands of the governors had asked them to give him seven days to resolve the crisis.

There are claims that the Tuesday meeting was cancelled following President Buhari’s request to answer to the crisis over the new naira policy within seven days.
