The president of the UFC, Dana White, has claimed that he and his wife had apologized to each other following a “horrible” incident in which they hit each other.

On New Year’s Eve, 53-year-old Dana White and his wife Anne were inside a bar in Mexico when the brawl happened.

White and his wife could be seen in a TMZ-released video standing on the balcony of a VIP room at El Squid Roe in Cabo San Lucas.

After what appeared to be angry comments, White grabbed Anne’s left wrist, and Anne smacked him across the face. After that, White punched his wife in retaliation before other partygoers stepped in to stop him.

“There was a lot of alcohol involved, but that’s no excuse,” White told TMZ.

“You’ve heard me say for years, ‘there’s never an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman,’ and now here I am on TMZ talking about it.”

According to Dana White, his wife has apologized to their three children over the incident.

He added: “My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years, we’ve known each other since we were 12 years old.

“This is one of those situations that is horrible; I’m embarrassed. Right now, we’re more concerned about our kids.

“Since the video popped up, we’ve shown the kids the video. We’re more focused on our family right now.”

In 2001, White was designated the UFC president after assisting the Fertitta brothers in their $2 million purchase of the American mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company.

In 2021, the brothers sold the business for about $4 billion. White held close to 10% of the business at the time.
