Iseyin: Obasanjo Attempted To Ridicule Those In The Rank Of Gods - Afenifere Demands Public Apology

Former Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Rowland Owie has berated former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his endorsement of the Labour Party (LP) standard bearer, Peter Obi.

In a statement on Monday, Owie stated the former Nigerian leader is a major destroyer of Nigeria and one of the past leaders who brought the county to its present predicament.

The former lawmaker asserted that no Nigerian should allow him or herself to be deceived by Obasanjo’s endorsement of the LP flagbearer.

Owie also accused the former Nigerian leader of showing dislike for those who always say the truth and stand by it.

He said: “Beloved, let nobody be deceived by Obasanjo. He is a major destroyer of Nigeria. He hates those who say the truth. He was in prison, when a great Nigerian, General Ibrahim Babangida invited his close friends including my humble self to Minna sometime in 1998.

“After a meeting that lasted 8 hours, a prisoner, an ungrateful one for that matter was adopted and at the PDP Presidential Primaries in Jos, an ex-convict became a candidate.

“He should go before God and start atoning for the sins he committed against those who brought him out of prison, his Tribe, the PDP, Nigeria, and Nigerians.”

Recall that Obasanjo, in his New Year message titled “My Appeal to all Nigerians, particularly young Nigerians”, endorsed Obi to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

The former Nigerian leader said the LP flagbearer possessed the attributes and attitudes necessary to successfully direct the affairs of Nigeria at a time like this.

Obasanjo said Obi possesses a track record of ability and performance; a vision that is authentic, honest, and realistic; character and attributes of a gentleman.

The former President also took a swipe at the Muhammadu Buhari government, saying that it has left many Nigerians sad and many have had horrible experiences since its assumption of power in 2015.

He asserted that Nigeria has become hell on earth for most Nigerians in the last seven years of the Buhari government.
