Nnamdi Kanu Will Be Freed But... - Reno Omokri Tells Igbos What To Do

Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has berated those attacking former President Olusegun Obasanjo for endorsing the Labour Party (LP) flagbearer, Peter Obi.

In a series of tweets via his Twitter handle on Monday, Omokri urged anyone who is attacking Obasanjo for endorsing Obi to consider apologising to him.

Omokri said Obasanjo has done so much for Nigeria in peace and war, saying that Nigerians should respect his sacrifices for Nigeria and treat him with dignity no matter his political stance.

He wrote: “I urge anyone who attacked President Obasanjo for endorsing Peter Obi to consider apologising to him. Obasanjo has done so much for Nigeria in peace and war. Whether or not we agree with his stance, we must respect his sacrifices for Nigeria. Treat him with dignity!

“In 1983, Okadigbo described Azikiwe’s protest against the election as “rantings of an ant’ (he later denied it). Zik made a pronouncement that many think affected his life. Be careful before attacking people, like Obasanjo, who fought for Nigeria. It can be tragic!

“If not for Obasanjo, there may be no Nigeria today. He effectively ended the civil war. He is the first Nigerian leader not to be overthrown or killed. He is the first President to handover to another President. Even if we disagree with him, we MUST respect him!”

Omokri also slammed the Director of Media and Publicity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Bayo Onanuga, for insulting Obasanjo because of Peter Obi.

He added: “You can just imagine insulting the most distinguished living Nigerian, in the person of Obasanjo, because of a known drug lord, like Tinubu, who should be in jail. If there are still elders in Yoruba land, they should call Bayo Onanuga to order. Ko’n sè bí omoluabi!
