Meet Winner Of Miss Africa 2022 Beauty Pageant

Nigerian model, Precious Okoye, has emerged winner of Miss Africa 2022 beauty pageant held in Calabar, Cross River State.

Naija News understands that Precious took the crown on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, ahead of Poelano Mothisi from Lesotho, who emerged as 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up, Tina Haimbala from Namibia.

The event had more than 20 contestants and many dignitaries across Africa and beyond.

The victory of Precious at Miss Africa in  Calabar makes her the first Nigerian to wear the crown.

Speaking on the achievement, Precious said it has always been a long-time dream since her modeling career.

While expressing overwhelming gratitude to everyone, supporters, her family, and fellow contestants, Precious said the platform will enable her to tell her story and empower the youths.

She said: “I feel overwhelmed being crowned Miss Africa, as this has always been what I wanted for my modelling career. The platform will enable me to tell my story, empower the youths and fly my country’s flag with so much pride and I cannot wait to put in all my best to make you all proud.”

1. Precious hails from Anambra State

2. She holds a degree in Botany from the University of Lagos.

3. Precious started her career as a model in 2013 and gained popularity after she won the face of Black Opal Nigeria in 2017.

4. In 2019, Precious Okoye contested and won the Miss Plo Nigeria and subsequently represented Nigeria in the Miss Polo International in Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Dubai.

5. She is reportedly worth $100,000.
