MI Abaga Reacts After Wizkid Declared Rap Music Dead And Boring

Veteran Nigerian rapper, MI Abaga, has reacted to the statement of Nigerian singer, Wizkid, about the rap music genre.

Naija News reports that the singer in an interview with 10 Magazine said he doesn’t listen to rap music because it’s dead and boring.

Wizkid claimed that Afrobeats is the new pop stressing he has sold two million copies of one of his songs in America.

According to the ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner, listening to rap is tiring because the artists often make repetition of beats and flows.

Rap Is On The Rise

Reacting to Wizkid’s statement, MI Abaga took to Twitter to share a list of his fellow rappers who are winning.

He noted that most rappers are still not popular but the genre keeps getting better and it is on the rise.

He wrote: “The energy around HIPHOP right now feels right.. I know most rappers are still not the most popular yet.. but right now is time for us to focus on the craft.. just keep getting better.. this year we did so well as a genre and next year we grow!!!!
