Buhari To Unveil New Naira Notes Tomorrow – Emefiele
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele on Tuesday confirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari will unveil the redesigned Naira notes on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
Emefiele disclosed this while speaking at the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee monthly meeting in Abuja.
Naija News recall that the CBN Governor in October had announcer that the apex bank would issue redesigned N200, N500, and ₦1,000 notes, effective December 15, 2022,
Emefiele, however, on Tuesday noted that the apex bank will not wait till December anymore for the unveiling of the new notes.
According to Emefiele, the deadline for returning the old Naira notes to commercial banks in exchange for newly designed ones would not be shifted.
