Check Out Full List Of African Team Squads For World Cup In Qatar

The list of squads to represent the five African nations at the 2022 World Cup tournament in Qatar has surfaced on social media. 

Naija News reports that the FIFA World Cup games set to kick off on Sunday, 20th November, will be contested by a total of 32 teams, each representing their nation.

Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Algeria and Egypt did not qualify for Africa, while Italy, 2018 hosts Russia and Norway will not go for the tournament for Europe.

Since the inception of the world cup, no Africa country has ever won even though the continent is home to top professional stars.

However, footballer lovers, especially in Africa are hopeful that this year may turn out differently.

Below are the African team squads for Qatar World Cup 2022

Ghana

Ghana qualified for their first world cup in 2006 and became the third African nation to qualify in the quarter-finals for the 2010 edition in South Africa

Ghana will battle with Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea in the Group H category

Ghana Squad Goalkeepers: Lawrence Ati Zigi, Nurudeen Manaf, Ibrahim Danlad.

Defenders: Tariq Lamptey, Alidu Seidu, Alexander Djiku, Gideon Mensah, Dennis Odoi, Daniel Amartey, Mohammed Salisu, Joseph Aidoo, Baba Abdul Rahman.

Midfielders: Andre Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey, Elisha Owusu, Daniel Kofi Kyereh, Abdul Salis Samed.

Forwards: Osman Bukari, Williams Inaki, Jordan Ayew, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Sowah Kamal, Antoine Semenyo, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

Senegal

Senegal is also among the teams representing Africa in the World Cup.  The team will battle hosts Qatar, Ecuador, and the Netherlands in the group A category.

Senegal squad; Goalkeepers: Seny Dieng, Alfred Gomis, Edouard Mendy.

Defenders: Fode Ballo-Toure, Pape Abdou Cisse, Abdou Diallo, Ismail Jakobs, Kalidou Koulibaly, Formose Mendy, Yousouf Sabaly.

Midfielders: Pathe Ciss, Krepin Diatta, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Pape Gueye, Cheikhou Kouyate, Mamadou Loum Ndiaye, Nampalys Mendy, Moustapha Name, Pape Matar Sarr.

Forwards: Boulaye Dia, Famara Diedhiou, Bamba Dieng, Nicolas Jackson, Sadio Mane, Iliman Ndiaye, Ismaila Sarr.

Tunisia

Tunisia has been at World Cup five times, with most of its players playing for the local football league. The team will battle with France, Australia, and Denmark in the group Group D category.
