Council Vice Chairman, Ighedo Slumps, Dies In Delta
The Vice-Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council in Delta State, Olorogun Daniel Ighedo, has reportedly died.
Reports said the politician died on Tuesday, months after rifts with the Uvwie monarch. The native of Ekpan town in Uvwie was said to have slumped in the morning and was rushed to the hospital.
Ighedo was pronounced dead hours after receiving his first medical attention at the hospital, Naija News learnt.
It was alleged that Ighedo was ostracised by the Uvwie monarch over the crisis surrounding the appointment of Community Liaison Officer (CLO) to a company in the area.
He was ostracised because of a petition he wrote against the revered Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Abe 1, to the Nigeria Police Force demanding the arrest and interrogation of the monarch, said a report obtained from Daily Post.
APC Reps Candidate Dies In Enugu Road Accident
In another report, the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representative candidate for Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency, Ejikeme Omeje, died in a fatal road accident.
Naija News understands that Omeje died in a motor accident on Tuesday morning along Eden Ani/Nsukka road near El-Rina hotel Nsukka.
It was gathered that the accident occurred when Omeje was driving back from Edem-Ani town after a political event.
An APC stakeholder from the zone who confirmed the incident to Daily Post disclosed that the APC candidate was driving alone along the Erina-Edem Ani road in Nsukka when he suddenly lost control, and his car veered into the bush, hitting a tree in the process.
The politician was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead in the early hours of Tuesday morning due to the injuries he sustained from the fatal accident.
Also confirming the incident, the State Secretary of the APC in Enugu State, Robert Ngwu, said the death of the top politician was shocking.
